North Lakes Academy (NLA) is seeking a part-time (1-2 days per week) licensed School Social Worker for the 2024-2025 school year. Ideal candidates would have experience and passions in areas such as: social skills groups, providing IEP services, assisting in creating and supporting FBAs/PBSPs, assessing social/emotional functioning of students, mental health interventions, systems analysis and development, PBIS implementation, professional development for school staff, supporting student emotional regulation, communicating with parents and therapists, and supporting staff and/or students for mental health situations.

North Lakes Academy (NLA) is a K-12 charter school located in Forest Lake, Minnesota, a community about 25 miles north of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. The school was organized by a group of Forest Lake area parents and teachers seeking an alternative to the large junior high schools available to the children in the community. NLA was chartered in the spring of 1999 and opened for operation that fall. In 2009, we expanded to include grades 9-12, and grew again in 2019 when we opened a new facility to add grades K-4.

Currently, we operate an elementary campus (grades K-6) and a secondary campus (grades 7-12) both in Forest Lake, serving a total of 550 students. At all grade levels, we embrace the principles of small class sizes, personalized learning, and a diverse liberal arts education, which includes fostering the emotional intelligence of our students and building strong relationships between families, staff, and students.
