JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION STATUS: Full-time 

START DATE:  2025-2026  school year

COMPENSATION: $41,400 - $66,300 based on experience.
BENEFITS: Health Insurance, Dental Coverage, Paid Time Off (PTO), TRA or PERA Contributions, Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, and access to a range of additional benefits, such as short-term disability and accident insurance.

Serving the Forest Lake and surrounding areas since 1999, North Lakes Academy provides a personalized learning environment designed to meet a wide variety of academic needs. With strong core subjects and a full complement of liberal arts courses, NLA provides quality learning in a responsive learning atmosphere. Currently, we operate an elementary campus (grades K-6) and a secondary campus (grades 7-12) both in Forest Lake, serving a total of 460 students. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Current Minnesota teaching license in Chemistry and/or Physics (Grades 7–12)

  • Experience or interest in Environmental Science is a plus

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

  • Commitment to collaboration and ongoing professional growth

  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Licensure or experience in Environmental Science

  • Experience working in a charter school or college-preparatory setting

  • Familiarity with project-based learning or inquiry-based instruction

  • Experience differentiating instruction for a wide range of learners

  • Strong technology integration skills in the science classroom

  • Passion for building positive relationships with students and families

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

North Lakes Academy is seeking a dynamic and student-focused Secondary Science Teacher to join our Upper School team for the 2025-2026 school year. The teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and rigorous instruction in Physical Science, Chemistry, and/or Physics to students in grades 7–12. The ideal candidate will foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for science while maintaining high academic expectations and building meaningful relationships with students.
