2028 Europe Trip
Take Learning Beyond the Classroom—and Across the Atlantic
At North Lakes Academy, experiential learning gives students opportunities to explore, discover, and make meaningful connections between what they learn in school and the world around them. In March 2028, that experience will extend across the Atlantic as the North Lakes Academy Europe Trip takes students, families, and friends on an unforgettable journey through France, Germany, and the Swiss Alps.
Open to students who will be in grades 6–12 during the 2027–28 school year, the trip offers much more than an opportunity to visit Europe. It is a chance to experience new cultures, explore historic places, see different communities firsthand, and develop a broader understanding of the world.
Experiential Learning on a Global Scale
Travel can transform subjects students encounter in school into experiences they can see, hear, and remember.
History becomes more tangible when students stand in places where significant events occurred. Geography takes on new meaning when they travel through different landscapes and countries. Exposure to new languages, architecture, traditions, foods, and ways of life helps students better understand cultures beyond their own.
These experiences complement North Lakes Academy's broader emphasis on experiential learning. Whether students are exploring the natural environment closer to home or traveling internationally, the goal is similar: encourage curiosity and help students connect learning to real places, people, and experiences.
The 2028 Europe Trip gives NLA students an opportunity to expand those connections on an international scale.
France, Germany & the Swiss Alps
The 2028 journey will take the North Lakes Academy community through France, Germany, and the Swiss Alps, introducing travelers to three distinctive European destinations.
Along the way, students will have opportunities to encounter European history and culture while experiencing firsthand the landscapes, communities, architecture, and traditions that make each destination unique.
International travel also encourages important personal growth. Navigating unfamiliar places and experiencing different cultures can help young people develop independence, adaptability, confidence, curiosity, and a greater appreciation for different perspectives.
An NLA Community Experience
The North Lakes Academy Europe Trip isn't limited to students. Family members and friends are also invited to participate, making this a shared experience for the broader NLA community.
Parents who have dreamed of exploring Europe with their children have an opportunity to experience the journey alongside them. It is another reflection of the close-knit community that defines North Lakes Academy—bringing students and families together for an experience that can create memories lasting well beyond the trip itself.
