
PT 5TH/6TH BAND TEACHER
JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION STATUS: Part-time- 7 hours per week (.2 FTE)
WORK HOURS: 7:30-11 AM, 2 set days per week
START DATE: 2025-2026 school year
COMPENSATION: $27.50-$30.00 per hour

Currently, we operate an elementary campus (grades K-6) and a secondary campus (grades 7-12) both in Forest Lake, serving a total of 460 students. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid Minnesota teaching license in band

Experience working with children in a musical setting

Proficiency in playing and teaching various band instruments

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

4 year degree related to music education

Previous experience teaching elementary or middle school band

Strong knowledge of brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments

Ability to organize and lead student performances and events

Excellent classroom management and communication skills

Passion for fostering musical growth in young learners
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The position includes scheduled times for pulling fifth and sixth grade students for small group lessons, as well as providing large group band experiences. Additionally, the band teacher is responsible for organizing a band concert in late spring. The instructor is responsible for fostering a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages creativity, teamwork, and personal growth.
