JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Recess/Lunch Supervisor
Location: North Lakes Academy (NLA), Forest Lake, Minnesota
Position Type: 12.5 Hours Per Week
Compensation: $18 Per Hour

North Lakes Academy is a public charter school serving students in grades K–12. At NLA, we provide a rigorous curriculum in a safe, small-school setting where each student is known as an individual. Our dedicated staff work collaboratively to support the growth of the whole student—academically, socially, and emotionally.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise students during lunch and recess to ensure safety and appropriate behavior

  • Enforce school rules using positive and proactive behavior management strategies

  • Support students in developing respectful social interactions and inclusive play

  • Monitor student activity to prevent bullying, unsafe behavior, or accidents

  • Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies, including basic first aid when needed

  • Support students with special needs or behavioral challenges as appropriate

  • Collaborate with staff to maintain a positive school climate

  • Foster a welcoming and engaging midday environment for all students

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with children or in childcare settings preferred

  • Knowledge of behavior management and conflict resolution strategies

  • Strong communication skills with students and staff

  • Ability to maintain a safe, structured, and positive environment

  • First aid certification preferred

  • Experience working with diverse learners or special education support is a plus
