Compensation: $41,400-$69,700 based on experience.

Summary:
North Lakes Academy is seeking a dynamic and passionate music educator to join our team as a full-time Instrumental Band and Choir Instructor for grades 7-12. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in music education, a deep understanding of both instrumental and choral music, and the ability to inspire students to reach their full musical potential. This role requires a commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that aligns with state and national music standards.
Responsibilities:

Lead and instruct band and choir classes for grades 7-12.

Develop and deliver high-quality music instruction in instrumental techniques, music theory, and vocal skills.

Plan and organize regular band rehearsals and choir practices.

Prepare students for school performances, concerts, and music-related events.

Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help students improve their musical skills.

Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall music program and contribute to school-wide events.

Foster a positive, respectful, and engaging classroom environment that encourages student participation and creativity.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field.

Valid teaching license in Instrumental Music/Band (required).

Vocal/Choir license or certification (preferred).

Proven experience in teaching instrumental music and choir to middle and high school students.

Proficiency in playing and teaching a variety of band instruments (brass, woodwind, percussion, etc.).

Strong knowledge of music theory, musical techniques, and performance preparation.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.

A passion for working with students and fostering a love of music.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with diverse student populations.

Ability to integrate technology and modern teaching methods into music instruction.

Previous experience leading extracurricular music activities, such as ensembles or music clubs.
