Jeffrey A Rapp

Teacher Member

Mr. Rapp has served as a music instructor for the past 34 years and at NLA since 2003. In addition to his role as a music teacher, he also served as musician in the United States Army Reserve from 1980-2009. In this capacity, he performed across the U.S. as well as Germany, France and Italy. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls (BME) and St Thomas University (MME). He lives in Osceola, WI with his wife and four children.

Cam Stottler

Ex-Officio Member

Cam graduated from Forest Lake high school in 1996 and the University of St. Thomas in 2000 with a BS in Math. He taught for 10 years prior to coming to North Lakes Academy in 2010. Cam became Executive Director in 2016 and has held that position the last 5 years. Cam is married to Heather, a health teacher in the Anoka-Hennepin district, and has a daughter (Kendel) who is 5 years old.

Chelsie Thielen

Teacher Member

Chelsie holds a B.A. in English (University of Minnesota) and a M.A. in Education (Augsburg University). Before she was a language arts teacher, she was a journalist who covered school districts; the experiences she had doing that job inspired her decision to leave journalism and become a teacher. She and her husband, Jimmy, live in Hugo with their three children. She likes to run, fish, and do crossword puzzles.

Hannah Hanson

Community Member

Hannah is a graduate of North Lakes Academy. She has been working in the mental health field since 2016 and currently works at a non- profit mental health organization based in St. Paul. She is part of the housing team and works with those experiencing homelessness. She also works part time doing mental health crisis response on a 24 hour emergency response team.

Ann Borgwardt

Teacher Member

Ann is a 5 year veteran of North Lakes Academy Middle School and elementary, teaching Social Studies and Science. She has an MAT from Hamline University, and is an alum of Carleton College, and also holds an MBA from the Helsinki School of Economics. Ann is a native of MN and all of it's beautiful wonder, and values NLA mission to help students grow into confident scholars and citizens.

Scott Schloesser

Parent Member

Scott Schloesser is a husband and father to 2 North Lakes Academy students. For the past 15 years, he been a middle school teacher in the Anoka-Hennepin School District. Along with teaching Minnesota Studies in sixth grade, he taught the AVID program. Scott really focuses on the development of the whole child and knows that creating relationships will better prepare students for their future.

Tom Lutes

Community Member

Tom holds a Bachelor's Degree in Education and English from St. Thomas and enjoys life with his wife, son, and dog. He was an Upper School English Teacher before moving onto the MN Army National Guard as a medic and is now an Emergency Care Medic. He is also employed with Allina as an EMT, plus being a Field Training Officer and a Clinical Services (External Education) Instructor.  Tom wants to be part of forming a vision of forward movement. He is interested in ensuring organizational structures that support diverse styles of learning and teaching, so that students are prepared to graduate and accomplish a diversity of goals, while teachers are empowered to equip students for those goals.

Jessica Anderson

Parent Member

Jessica has experience as a Paralegal is a licensed Real Estate Agent. Her goals for the NLA School Board is to oversee the overall success and wellness of the school, staff, and students.

Laura del Villar

Teacher Member

Laura has taught at NLA since 2000 and currently teaches 5th grade language arts. Her passion is teaching reading and sharing books with students. She graduated from Hamline University in 1999.
